If I had to pick between Plymouth or Jamestown to live in I would pick Jamestown. I would want to live in Jamestown because they were wealthy and only planned to stay until they found gold. After they found gold they would move to another colony to explore for more gold.  If I lived in Jamestown I would get to explore and find gold , that’s the main reason I want to live in Jamestown.

Henry Hudson

Henry Hudson

June 1611

Explorer Gazette

In 1610 England hired Hudson to find the Northwest passage.  Hudson sailed to Northern Canada in a ship called Discovery.  He was sure he had found the Northwest Passage when he discovered a 450 mile log passage way.  A passageway later called Hudson Straight, led to a large bay now called Hudson Bay.  Hudson kept searching for a water route to the Pacific Ocean.  The bay froze over when the winter set in.    Their ship froze in the ice, he and his crew had a long winter in a log hut. In June, 1611 after the weather warmed he set sail.  His crew thinking he was going back home soon realized he was sailing west to keep searching or the Northwest Passage.  Wanting desperately to go home the angry crew put Hudson, his son and 7 other loyal crewman into a small boat with no oars and left them in the bay.  Hudson and others were never heard from again.   I think Hudson and the 7 other men died of starvation and when they died their boat tipped and no one ever found their bodies.  What do you think happened?

Should every kid get a trophy?

Every kid shouldn’t get a trophy. If you play a sport and play hard, and earn a trophy then you should get one.  If you get a trophy for silly things like, cleaning your room or doing the dishes then that means you don’t deserve it. A reasonable reason to get a trophy is like playing a team sport and not being lazy or winning a performance. What do you think? Do you think people should get a trophy for silly things or not?

It’s Snowing It’s Snowing

Author:  Jack Prelutsky           Number of Pages: 47

The main idea of these poems is that it’s winter and these poems talk about winter, the  leaves falling off the trees, snowmen melting and others

Yes, I liked this book and would recommand it because it talks about all the thing in winter. My favorite poem out of all these poems was The Snowmens Lament I liked it because it ryhmes real well.
