The Words “Welcome” Were Shouted

I will never forget the welcome to Canada party that was thrown for me and my cousin.

We walked through the door, and the words ” Welcome to Canada” were shouted. My aunt said ” Go grab a stick and head outside.” I had no idea what was fixing to happen, and I didn’t want to go outside. I walked outside and chose a chair, she then announced we would cook raw chicken on a stick and then eat it. I absolutely did not want to do that.

The first time I put the chicken on my stick it slipped through my fingers, but finally on the third try I got it secured on my stick. While we waited for the chicken to cook, we all talked about what had been going on while we haven’t seen each other.

Finally after about an hour the chicken was pleasingly cooked, and tasted incredible. Next my aunt announced “Next on the menu were s’mores.” I captured a rod and put mine straight in the fire, while others lightly toasted them. When it was finished I smashed it together, and the hot marshmallow pressed against my tongue tasted marvelous. After all I was excited and grateful my aunt had prepared this trip for us. You should always be grateful of things, even if its not exactly what you want.

2013-2014

In 2013 I had 3 top memories I’d like to share with you so here it goes! It was close to the month of October, where most of us like to dress up in a scary costume and go trick-or-treating.  It was a time where a few of our friends like to add more scare to the month.  We had gone every year to the same Haunted House, but every year I go they always so I’m to young participate in being in the Haunted House.  But this year everything had changed , I guess they thought I had matured. This was the year they let me be apart of the fun.  They gave me a robe and told me to go put it on,  so after I put the robe on the time was almost here where I could start the scare.  When I walked out they smothered white, black, and blue paint on my face,  it felt gooey and my hair got stuck in it numerous amounts of time. I ran into the room I was assigned to and acted like a vodo doll.  I got to scream and yell as people walked through.  The room was felled with scary props and scary noises.  Well a few months later after we had all that fun , we received a text from my Meemaw that her dog had ran away.  She asked my mom mom to print some signs and she would go hang them around town.  So my mom made the signs and my Meemaw hung them up around town.  We hadn’t received any calls about him being found and It was a week before Christmas.  As Christmas sneaked up around the corner we woke up and still hadn’t  heard , so I guess we were gonna have Christmas without him.  My uncle and my Meemaw came over quick Christmas morning.  I opened up a clue which led me to my first present, it was hidden in the house.  We got through all the presents and I got to open my last clue, it said ” Pack your bags were leaving early in the morning to go on a trip.”  My mom didn’t tell me where we were going but I figured it out, we were going to Branson Missouri! We woke up unintentionally late.   We were supposed to leave at 7:00 like I said back up there, but we woke up at 8:30 and left at 9:00 am. It was a 6 hour drive , but it was worth the time. I got to do all kinds of things I had never done before.  There were a lot of fun things things  got to do in 2013 but here’s a few goals i’d like to follow in 2013.  This year I’d like to bring all of my grades to an A, by doing that I need to study a lot more.  Keeping my closet clean is something else I’d like to accomplish.  I would need to organize my shoes and make my clothes hang nicely.  I have a bad habit of talking back to my mom. To help me accomplish that goal I would need to start using manners like yes ma’am and no ma’am.  My mom types really fast on the computer, I want to learn how to type fast like she does.  I could start taking typing classes online.  For Christmas I received a book called Twisted a novel I’d like to finish that book.  I don’t have Catching Fire, Mocking Jay, or Twilight but those are a few of some more books I’d like to read.  To help me finish all of those books I could read an extra 10 minutes on the weekday and 30 minutes on the weekend.  Thank You! and a Happy New Year!
